Pendulums date back hundreds of years and have been used for many different things such as clocks, predicting earth quakes and guessing if an expectant mother is going to have a boy or a girl.
Pendulums are mainly pieces of crystals that come in different shapes but can also be made from copper or sliver (please see our range of pendulums for examples).
Most crystal pendulums extend to a point at the bottom and are attached to either a chain or a piece string it all depends on what your preferences is.
Pendulums are a way of checking what your unconscious mind already knows through asking simple questions that can be given a Yes or No answer. The pendulum is known to be linked with your inner and higher self and allows you to confirm answers to the questions via a visual aid. However, pendulums should only ever be used for the wellbeing of yourself or others. They should never be used for egotistical purposes.
When you are first beginning to use your pendulum you should always ensure that you are connected to your pendulum by programming your pendulum. This can be done by entering a slightly altered state of awareness and calming the mind as strong emotions can effect the results from the pendulum. It can be helpful to meditate before using the pendulum to ensure you are in a calm and relaxed state of mind.
Next, take your pendulum and loop the chain around your index finger so that the pendulum is hanging safely and secure from your finger without you having to hold it between two fingers.
You then need to establish how your pendulum will communicate with you i.e. which direction for YES and which for NO. You can do this by asking the pendulum to show you the sign for ‘Yes’ and when you are happy you have a strong link for the movement linked to ‘YES’, then ask for the sign for ‘NO’.
When the pendulum starts to swing it should move on its own and your own hand should not be moving as the pendulum works with your own energy. If your hand is moving or shaking then find something that you are able to rest your arm on to help stop the movement.
Normally you will find that the pendulum will swing one way for YES and one way for NO. It should never swing the same way for both. This will be different for each person some might swing left and right for ‘YES’ and some might swing backwards and forwards for ‘YES’.
You can only ask the pendulum closed question that can only be given a YES or NO answer. You may find that some questions cannot be answered, the pendulum usually indicates this by not moving at all or going around in a circular motion.
Pendulums can also be used to help balance chakras on the body. It is generally advised that you should have one pendulum for questions and one for healing so that each of your pendulums can be programmed for their particular purpose.
When using the pendulum for chakra healing, ask the pendulum to show you a sign of an unbalanced chakra. For example, this could be wide circular motion. Then ask for the sign of a balanced chakra, this may be when the pendulum stays perfectly still. Remember, each person’s particular movements will be different.
The person who is having their chakras balanced should lie down in a comfortable position. You should then position the pendulum over the crown chakra first to start the balancing sequence.
While holding the pendulum ask the question, ‘Is this chakra unbalanced?’ and wait for the response. If the pendulum gives you the sign that the charka is unbalanced then ask for the universal energy to help rebalance the charka and wait until the pendulum starts to swing in the balanced movement pattern.
Then move onto the next chakra and go through the same process again till you have worked on all seven chakras and then go back to the top and check each charka again to ensure they are balanced. After you have done this make sure you ground yourself and the person that you are working on.
